Monterey Purple
It started by accident. Phil Garfinkel had been playing in an acoustic band for many years and was itching to play electric music. There was a jam session in his basement and Carey Rogers showed up. At some point during the jam, Carey kicked into The Jefferson Airplane's "Feels So Good" and, boy, did it ever!
From that the seed was planted and it grew from there.
Now, with Bill Chapin on lead guitar fusing the groundbreaking work of guitarists like John Cipollina, Jorma Kaukonen, and Neil Young with modern approaches like that of Bill Frisell, Mark Ribot, and Nels Cline, old familiar songs take on new sonic textures.
Carey and Phil join their voices with powerhouse chanteuse Keesha Wallace for fully textured harmonies that bring the songs from dusty vinyl back to life. It's the perfect balance of nostalgic and modern.
