FUTURECASTLE: A Joint Performance by Rare Futures and Gavin Castleton
Rare Futures (NYC) and Gavin Castleton (PDX) have joined forces to reinterpret four songs by golden-era artists: Sade, Chicago, Hall and Oats, and Tears For Fears. TheFutureCastle EP will be available on a month-long US tour featuring a space-age boudoir-themed collaborative headlining set. In the Clouds Records, a boutique vinyl and screen-printing shop, will sell 20 limited edition merch bundles (comprised of a screen print, t-shirt, hand-pressed 7" vinyl EP, and concert ticket) for each show on the tour.
Gavin Castleton, keyboardist/backing vocalist for The Dear Hunter and pop solo artist, has released a slew of bizarre concept records over the past decade. He's worked with Seal, performed on the Jimmy Fallon Show, and toured the world both as a solo artist and member of Sage Francis, Courtney Marie Andrews, Paranoid Social Club and Gruvis Malt. Castleton's latest recording, The Punchline EP (which features a song about the Predator hunting Trump) was released in Sept 2016 on Cave & Canary.
Rare Futures (formerly known as Happy Body Slow Brain) is a rock band whose members have toured in bands such as Taking Back Sunday, Atlas Genius, RX Bandits, The Dear Hunter, Into It Over It, Envy On the Coast, A Great Big Pile Of Leaves and the Ben Kenney Band.
