Saint Ophelia

Alt Folk-Rock

Saint Ophelia

The Alt Folk-Rock band, Saint Ophelia will bring their unique and visceral sound to The White Eagle Tavern in Portland on Nov. 1. The five-piece ensemble is fronted by vocalist/guitarist Rebekah Kuzma, singer songwriter Joe Panzetta, and pedal steel magician Dan Tyack. With a killer rhythm section of Wesley Peterson on drums and Chuck Keller on bass, their original songs run the gamut from groovy to rockin’ to spacious, and seem to move through them rather than from them. Opening the evening will be Stills Vergnetti (Jennifer and Annie) followed by Skybound Blue.

Skybound Blue

Americana duo

Skybound Blue

Skybound Blue's worldclass vocals and truly great hooks set them apart from being just another Americana band" Arial Publicity.

"This is feel good music with soul" Becky Johnson, Sterling Talent

Fronted by married duo Matt and Jenny Behnke, Skybound Blue is harmony-driven, foot-stomping, dig deep and tell the story in your bones kind of music. Whether performing as a duo or full band the chemistry onstage is truly mesmerizing and the energy palpable. This is raw talent, true artistry and tangible authenticity that leaves you nothing short of inspired. Their music is in regular rotation on top triple A stations, has been curated for regional music compilations, and featured in National ad campaigns. Skybound Blue recently finished a 60 date summer tour including a sold out house concert series which has garnered significant attention from fans and music industry professionals alike.

The couple met in Jazz choir at Spokane Falls Community College, fell instantly in love, then promptly quit school in search of adventure. They spent three summers on Guam, where Matt landed a gig diving for silver bullion on a 17th Century Spanish Galleon. Then, in 2000, they sold everything and sailed the Bahamas for a year: snorkeling, playing music, and making life-long friends.

A year later their lives changed forever when Jenny was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Cancer remains the biggest challenge the couple has ever endured. Out of this experience came a quiet knowing that writing and sharing their music was to be their path. They are here with the courage to share their story with their whole heart.

Skybound Blue's sophomore album was released Jan 2015. Get your copy here
