Ky Burt

Ky Burt

Ky Burt is a nationally touring musician, singer-songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist based in Portland, Oregon. His music features acoustic and electric guitar, banjo, harmonica, and voice. He performs both solo and with a backing band of musicians performing primarily on violin and bass, as well as cello, pedal steel, and drums. He has shared the stage with Justin Townes Earle, Michael Howard, Tara Valerde, Jenn Rawling, Gabrielle Louise, Ian Fitzgerald, and many Americana and roots bands. His influences include both past and contemporary artists including Townes Van Zandt, Doc Watson, Gillian Welch, Andrew Bird, and Gregory Alan Isakov. In October 2016 he released his debut studio EP, ‘The Moon and The Sea'. John Apice of the roots music journal, NO DEPRESSION, writes "so, we will leave Tom Waits to tell us about the saloons, whores and carnival folk. Let John Prine nail toy railroad tracks to his kitchen table at Christmas, sing about his Mexican home while Randy Newman swabs us with political satire, short people, and money that he loves. Now we have Ky Burt to bring us to places where we might want to live - where there are wildflowers, rain, and we can take new journeys. Yes, there is a viable musical place for Ky Burt." Born in the American midwest to a long ancestry of craftsman, farmers, writers, and tinkerers, Burt has been seeding his own unique craft through the art of song. Time spent living in different regions of the U.S. (Appalachia, Northeast, Midwest, Southwest, and Pacific Northwest) has deeply informed his songwriting, exposing Burt to numerous local and regional musical acts, allowing him to develop an engaging, dynamic, and diverse musical performance for a wide range of audiences. He is scheduled to release his debut full-length solo album in the of Fall 2018.

Arran Fagan

Introspective Folk

Arran Fagan

A product of the grassroots music movement of Southern Oregon, Medford artist Arran Fagan has spent the greater part of his life pursuing music, working his way into the northwest folk scene by playing countless coffee shops and house shows for college classmates and eventually opening for northwest favorites like HorseFeathers, Kris Orlowski, and Jeffrey Martin. In 2015, Arran recruited fellow University of Portland students Jack Pfeffer and Jonathan Wiley, and the three worked to perfect a sparse, melodic sound influenced by their individual backgrounds. Fueled by introspective lyrics and nostalgic melodies provided by the intimate combination of viola, bass, and acoustic guitar, his music explores themes of loss, growth, and the passage of time with fresh eyes.
