The Road to Strange: Travel Tales of the Paranormal
Travel is exciting and exhilarating because you never know what will be around the next corner. Anticipating the new and unexpected in travel is part of the thrill of it all! However, what you often least expect is to encounter the truly strange of the paranormal and the supernatural. Let Michael Brein take you along the Road to Strange for a sampling of what travelers like you and me often get to experience in their travels.
About the Speaker:
Michael Brein, aka The Travel Psychologist, is an author, lecturer, travel storyteller, adventurer, and publisher of travel books and guides. He regularly appears in newspapers, magazines, blogs, and radio programs on the psychology of travel—for instance: the Conde Nast Traveler, USA Today, the Washington Post, the Scientific American, the Huffington Post, just to name a few…
Michael is the first to coin the term ‘travel psychology.’ As such, through his doctoral studies, work and life experiences, and world travels, he has become the world's first — and perhaps only — ‘travel psychologist.’ He publishes travel tales eBooks, audiobooks, and print books— collections of travel stories on specific travel subjects, themes, or countries. Thus, books in Michael’s Travel Tales Series— are collections of similar kinds of travel stories. Travel tales of the paranormal, for instance, is a subset of Michael’s collection of around 10,000 travel stories that he has gathered from interviews with some 1,850 world travelers and adventurers like himself whom he has met in his own travels around the world over the last four decades.
Michael has been a member of a number of world travel clubs including the Travelers Century Club, whose requirement for membership is travel to a minimum of 100 countries, and the Circumnavigators Club, which requires going around the world in one complete trip.
Additionally, Michael took on a lifetime of study of the subject of UFO-ology since the age of 15 and became the State Director for Hawaii as well as Ambassador-at-Large for MUFON (the Mutual UFO Network), the largest UFO research organization in America with a significant worldwide presence as well. Michael’s book, The Road to Strange: Travel Tales of the Paranormal, upon which his presentation will be based, is a collection of the sorts of psychic and supernatural experiences that travelers have in their journeys. And Michael is no stranger to the paranormal, as well, since he, himself, has had a lifetime of psychic experiences. It is no surprise, then, that five of his own travel-related paranormal experiences appear in his book. Michael Brein resides on Bainbridge Island, Washington.
