Hosted by Aodhan Hammond-McGlynn, Laugh or Crash pits five comedians against each other in a battle to avoid collapsing the Column of Comedy (Jenga Tower). While the rest of the comedians form a panel with a buzzer at their disposal, each contestant takes the stage, armed with their best jokes, as they attempt to appease the gods of comedy. But beware - if a joke bombs, the crowd reacts negatively, or for any reason picked by the panel; the comedian must remove a block from the tower. The comedian with the most blocks pulled by the end of the night, or the unfortunate soul who causes the tower to collapse, faces punishments ranging from impromptu opera performances to wearing ridiculous costumes.

But that's not all - hidden within the tower are secret blocks containing punishments related to the failed joke's punchline, adding an extra layer of hilarity to the proceedings.

Aodhan Hammond-McGlynn is originally from Portland's Taint or as it's called locally, ‘Eugene'. After moving here to go to school, he reached a low point and decided to try Standup Comedy and has subsequently reached much lower points over the past year and a half with the help of it.

While he does enjoy doing traditional comedy, he recently has fallen in love with leaning more towards riffing which is where the idea for Laugh or Crash came to be. While playing Jenga by himself on a stormy eve he thought, "What if I could get all of my favorite people in comedy on one stage and then make them riff with me by pressing an obnoxiously loud buzzer" Thus magic was made.

Every month, Aodhan curates a lineup of Portland's finest comedic talent, ensuring that each show is an evening of laughter and entertainment. But remember, this show wouldn't be possible without you, the audience! Your laughs aren't just for boosting egos - they're an essential part of the game.
