About Kelly Brightwell

"'A singer/songwriter whose haunting, mesmerizing songs boast amazing lyrical prowess and have been called 'deeper than your standard java-fueled folk'. Impressive, right?

A brief history of Kelly: after teaching herself piano in the 6th grade, she began composing & performing her own songs by 13. Five years later, while studying & traveling with the Audubon Expedition Institute, she started playing guitar by learning the classic, standard folk songs of Appalachia and the Old West.

Kelly's put her own stamp on these traditional roots, using charmingly stripped-down music as the backdrop for her graceful delivery, which is perfectly matched by her introspective, radiant lyrics."
