About Shaun Palmer: The Miserable Champion
This December, Hutch's Bicycles and Pine Mountain Sports invite you to take a break from the holiday rush and relive some of the best days of'90s action sports decadence with Shaun Palmer: The Miserable Champion. This flick won Best Biography at the 2012 X-Dance Action Sports Film Festival.
In 1998 a cover story for USA TODAY posed the question: "Is this man the world's greatest athlete?" That man was mountain bike-snowboard-motocross-punk rocker Shaun Palmer, and that story shocked (and even offended) the sports world.
Fast-forward to 2012 and the idea that a bad-boy action sports athlete could be the best in the world isn't shocking, it seems normal. Brad Holmes' film, Shaun Palmer: The Miserable Champion, covers a career of extreme highs and lows as Palmer either dominates or fails in sports ranging from downhill mountain biking to snowboarding and skiing at the Winter X Games.
Movie Night at McMenamins raises funds and awareness for Central Oregon Trail Alliance. Door prizes will be provided by Hutch's Bicycles so brush up on your Shaun Palmer trivia!
