The 11th Annual Celebration of Syrah kicks off on Friday, April 13, with a gourmet reception and multicourse dinner. The reception features locally produced white varietals from the Rhône Valley, including Viognier, Marsanne, Roussanne, and more. Each of these wines is paired with appetizers, creating a welcoming introduction for our 90-plus guests.
Next, the celebration continues onto the dinner, held in the Edgefield Ballroom. Here we showcase locally produced Syrahs, giving our guests the opportunity to enjoy the Northwest's finest wines, paired with delicious fare.
The menu for the event, created by Head Chef John Zenger of the Black Rabbit Restaurant at Edgefield, utilizes Northwest cuisine to complement each wine.
This dynamic dinner is hosted by each participating winery's winemaker, giving our guests the chance to hear about the full process of the wines they are enjoying.

About 11th Annual Celebration of Syrah
Our 11th Annual Celebration of Syrah at McMenamins Edgefield features a gourmet reception and dinner on Friday evening, followed by a Syrah barrel sampling and BBQ lunch the next afternoon and, to cap it all off, our Grand Syrah Tasting and Benefit Silent Auction in the late afternoon. Proceeds from this final event benefit ¡Salud!, a non-profit organization that aids Oregon's seasonal vineyard workers in securing medical care.
