Muriel Stanton

A Portland native, Muriel Stanton started singing in the Portland Opera at the age of six. For the last three years she has been working on her own music project. A singer/songwriter/acoustic guitarist, she draws inspiration from Joan Osbourne, Patsy Cline, Prince, Stevie Wonder, Heart and many jazz and current pop artists. Muriel puts a sultry soul spin on the jazz, country, rock and funk tunes that she writes and covers, occasionally backed by some of Portland's best jazz and funk artists on electric guitar and bass, horns, drums, and keyboards.
