About The Wayward Ones w/special Guest Joseph Eid
The Wayward Ones' homespun blend of roots rock, Americana and soul brings you back. With a soulful vocal and guitar style often compared to artists such as Eric Clapton, John Mayer, and The Band, Rob's Larkin's music is infectious. Originally from Boston, Rob makes LA his home base, and regularly tours the west and east coasts with his talented and soulful collaborators.
Following his success as lead guitarist and vocalist for east coast and west coast-based bands, Rob recruited some of the best musicians in LA to help record his much-anticipated album, Dogwood Roots. The result is a rich musical stew, with ingredients from righteous organ to down-home harmonica, and everything in between. As a testament to its timelessness, the title track "Dogwood" won the Americana category of the 2011 Show Me the Music Songwriting contest, and receives airplay at various radio stations across the US and internationally.
The Wayward Ones road lineup includes seasoned pros such as drummer Pete DeCoste, who has recorded and toured the world with legends, and bassist D. Jennings, whose down-home bass and vocal harmonies were brewed in his southern gospel roots. The core band is often joined by special guests to help spice up the night, including righteous female singers Michelle Harding and Lisa Pollock, and Grammy-award winning harmonica player Ken Frizzelle. Other times, Rob does stripped down acoustic sets, to play the music in its honest, bare form.
Rob Larkin & The Wayward Ones' perfect balance of sweet soul and lowdown, rootsy grit will make you groove and smile. Look for much more to come from this band soon, with the worldwide release of Dogwood Roots on Spectra Records in January 2013.
