About Michele Van Kleef Music Machine

Michele Van Kleef Music Machine is Michele with her machine of a band who can play anything that she decides to throw at them; anything from  Cat Stevens, Sting, U2, Bonnie Raitt, Ani Di Franco, old blues, rockin' Zeppelin and the Beatles, to her own tunes with as many influences as mentioned and then some.

Michele's recently released solo album, After All (2012) features her beautiful voice, memorable melodies and storytelling lyrics. The record was mixed by Tchad Blake (2x Grammy Award Winner for Sheryl Crow and Suzanne Vega) and includes legendary bass player Tony Levin plus Nate Query from The Decemberists.

The band is often directed by multi-talented Mr. Tim Ellis, also the featured guitarist on Michele's After All. Far more than a guitarist, he's also a producer and part owner of Portland's Kung Fu Bakery Recording Studio. On bass guitar is Mr. Bill Athens, who moved from Wisconsin and has played in numerous bands in Portland, including Trio Subtonic, ranging in styles from rock to classical to jazz. Drummer Ken Ollis keeps it steady and holds it all together with a sense of secure abandon. A composer and drummer from Portland, he's played with many groups also in jazz, classical and rock. Together with Van Kleef's unique ability to sing any style she pleases, they put on a highly energetic and entertaining show.
