About Songs of Suffrage: Music That Helped Make History
Join us for this special fundraiser on this historic date – it was December 3, 1912, when the women of Bend voted for the first time in Bend's city elections. In celebration of this centennial, the Des Chutes Historical Museum presents local singer/songwriters performing some of the most popular protest songs from the women's suffrage movement, which struggled for 8 more years until women's suffrage was approved nationally in 1920. In addition, McMenamins' notorious brewer, Curly, will have a special ale brewed just for the occasion!
This event is a Family and Friends night, with McMenamins donating a portion of the proceeds of the evening's food and drink sales to the Des Chutes Historical Museum. So come hungry and thirsty, for good food and good friends, all to support the Des Chutes Historical Museum.
Tickets for the event are $5.00 each and available at the Des Chutes Historical Museum.
