About Succotash
"Bringing good songs to the table"
Succotash is a Portland-based acoustic trio with roots in the Americana music tradition featuring old time, bluegrass, gospel, stringband and more. True to the group's name, Succotash mixes it up with vocal harmonies and unusual arrangements, all with a flair for fun. The band, which formed in early 2009, features Allison Handler on clawhammer banjo and guitar, Joe Liebezeit on mandolin and harmonica, and Mary Rondthaler on guitar and washtub bass. All three members of the band share lead and harmony vocal parts as best suits the song. Succotash's first recording A Place to Land is now available on CD.
