AM Clouds

Indie-rock

AM Clouds

AM Clouds is a 4-piece indie rock band formed in Bend, Oregon in 2016. Two ex-Portlanders and two California transplants creating a classic indie rock sound that’s been compared to the Meat Puppets, Tom Petty, R.E.M, Yo La Tengo, Neil Young, and Uncle Tupelo. They have received critical acclaim from the Bend Bulletin and the Source Weekly for their debut EP War of Love and debut performance at Bend Roots Revival.

"I’m standing right up front with my jaw on the ground all over again. This is the only band whose whole set I saw, start to finish — I just couldn’t tear away. Strains of Matthew Sweet, Big Star and even some Mike Ness in singer/guitarist Bruce Moon’s commanding vocal performance added up to one hell of a power-pop explosion.” - Review of AM Clouds by Brian McElhiney, Bend Bulletin

Cosmonautical

Post-punk pop

Cosmonautical

Bend-based indie rockers Cosmonautical interweave driving rhythms and soaring guitar harmonies to create cranial post-punk hooks that dig in with all the pull of pop, while retaining their own brand of fiercely thought provoking lyricism. Drummer Phil McIntire and bassist Mackenzie Hatfield lay down a solid foundation of pulse-pounding rhythm that provides a launchpad for lead guitarist Jaren Brown, and singer-guitarist David von Schlegell, whose masterful vocals breathe life into complex but catchy lyrics. All the members of Cosmonautical are active members of the central Oregon music community.

The Zags

Unpop

The Zags

On the Zags' third full-length, the Portland pop band's familiar over-driven guitars, excitable back beats and insistent ear worms are as apparent as ever. But The Cliff also shows off a more varied spin on the band's established template. Songwriters David Ricardo and Stanton Hall offer spare, slower songs; arrangements with trumpets and oboes; and, given the times, some lyrics that touch on weightier issues like the rise of American fascism, privilege and the global climate crisis. Most of all, every song carries hooks that threaten to crawl into the listener's brain and stay awhile!
