Russell Street Jam
Jazz-inspired groove rock
Russell Street Jam started in 2016 as an informal all-star jam band with a rehearsal space on the corner of Russell Street and Martin King Luther Blvd. The collective plays jazz-inspired Hammond B3 groove tunes, Jerry Garcia Band classics and well-loved rock songs. Their philosophy is to keep it loose and invite guest musicians whom they admire.
Russell Street Jam is Julio Appling on bass (The Student Loan, Good Time Travelers, Ben Larson), Ned Failing on drums (Floridian Slips, Next Waltz), Edward Connell on keyboards (Lewi Longmire, The Left Coast Roasters), and Justin John on guitar (Garcia Birthday Band).
Their Nov. 2 show at The White Eagle will feature local jazz guitar phenom Chance Hayden, and local looper and Life During Wartime lead guitar player Chuck Warda.
