Gerle Haggard Band is a seven-piece, all-female tribute that brings the best of Merle Haggard's timeless music to audiences who have been loving songs like Mama Tried, Misery and Gin and Working Man Blues for nearly five decades as well as introducing these and many more classics to a whole new audience.
Founding member Maria Callahan had a dream one night that she was in an all-female Merle Haggard tribute band called Gerle Haggard. She woke herself up laughing and decided she had to put it together.
Callahan remarks: "The best thing about playing Merle's music is that his songs continue to stay relevant . . . the hardest thing is trying to decide which of his hundreds of songs to work on next!"
