Band of Comerados

Feel Good Acoustic Jams

Band of Comerados

Band of Comerados plays acoustic music that makes you feel good. Listening to their first EP, Tomorrow is Today, evokes the feeling that everything will be okay. There is a theme of positivity throughout the album that will stoke optimism as well as instrumentation that will leave you wanting to hear more.

Formed in Portland, Oregon, they played their first show in May 2015. What started as friends jamming in basements, around campfires, and after bowling, shortly turned into a band with huge aspirations: writing quality music, having a good time, and performing for all of their friends. When at a Band of Comerados show, expect to hear original music and well-placed covers, in addition to seeing smiles on the faces of the band, the fans, and hopefully even the bartenders.

Lewi Longmire

Roots-rock Americana

Lewi Longmire

Lewi Longmire has built a reputation as Portland's multi-instrumentalist "go to guy." In the years since relocating to Portland from Albuquerque, New Mexico, he's been included on shows and recordings by many of the Northwest's finest bands and songwriters. He's played with national acts Michael Hurley, Victoria Williams, Dolorean, AgesandAges, Sallie Ford & the Sound Outside, Blue Giant/Viva Voce/The Robinsons, Dolorean, the Minus 5, Breathe Owl Breathe and Tara Jane O'Neill as well as local luminaries Denver, The Portland Country Underground, Midlo/Pancake Breakfast, Quiet Life, Fernando, James Low, Perhapst, Electric Ill, Little Sue, Casey Neill, Michael Jodell, the Freak Mountain Ramblers, and is an anchor member of Portland's all-star tribute to the Allman Brothers, Brothers and Sister.

Recently, though, Lewi has taken all the things he learned from working with these fine performers and has been spending his time leading a roots rock/americana band of his own, singing his own compositions. This group owes much to the American tradition of good songs played with high energy, deep roots, and an unpretentious sense of fun. Their sound finds the connection between the basement feel of The Band, the raspy blue-eyed soul of Joe Cocker, the desert space of Giant Sand, the "without a net" deep space improvisations of the San Francisco ballrooms, the punk abandon of The Stooges and the quiet contemplation of Neil Young playing solo.

Chris Couch and Dan Hurley (of World's Finest)

Ska-Grass

Chris Couch and Dan Hurley (of World's Finest)

It's been a wild and crazy ride for the fellas in World's Finest, since their modest beginning as an acoustic duo in Portland, OR living rooms in 2011. With a songwriting style rooted in Americana, the band banks on their ability to transcend genres of all kinds. String-centric and bluegrass-inspired compositions seamlessly transition into 3-Dimensional Psytrance, Funk, and Dub soundscapes, leaving their audience with a full circle experience of emotion and dance. Their appreciation for punk and ska can be found peppered throughout their shows and albums, made evident by up-tempo, high-energy offerings, reminiscent of such classic acts as NOFX and Operation Ivy. Never happy to settle, Chris, Dan, Sean, Evan, and Mike continue to push through boundaries and challenge themselves, while hoping to inspire their listeners to expect the most out of what a band in the modern age can be capable of conjuring up.

Five years, countless shows, and 4 albums later, the band is still firing on all cylinders. The current lineup features 5 members: Chris Couch (Guitar/Vocals), Dan Hurley (Banjo/Vocals), Sean McLean (Sax/Guitar/Vocals), Evan Malfer (Bass), and Mike Apodaca (Drums). Their paths have all crossed in Portland, by way of Ohio, Illinois, Eastern Oregon, New York and California. As a result of such diverse upbringings, it was inevitable that the band's sound reflected their coast to coast musical influences.

The latest offering from World's Finest is a 6 song EP, entitled "We Got Ourselves a Game Here". Taking a new approach to their recording process, the band decided to record the album in front of a live audience at Hallowed Halls Studios in Portland. The result was nothing short of capturing lightning in a bottle. The quick paced track list of Ska-grass was wholly enhanced by their fans' infectious enthusiasm and energy.

World's Finest has hit the West Coast Festival scene hard, making appearances at High Sierra, Northwest String Summit, 4 Peaks, What the Festival ?!, and Symbiosis, to name a few. Their unique style has allowed them to connect with fans from all different kinds of musical worlds. In addition, their chameleon-like approach to their live show has allowed them the honor to share the stage with such acts as Steel Pulse, The Motet, The Expendables, Rusted Root, The Skatalites, Fruition, and many others.
