Cellotronik

Cello, laptop & more

Skip vonKuske isn't famous, but he is constantly in demand. As a member of Portland Cello Project and Vagabond Opera, he has performed all over North America and Europe. As a member of Groovy Wallpaper, Will West & The Friendly Strangers, Rob Wynia's Triptych, and a go to studio musician he works constantly in the Rose City. His solo work as Cellotronik incorporates cello, mandolin, acoustic guitar, vocals, music apps, and programmed beats along with live looping to weave a highly textured sound that creates a base for his virtuosic soloing. You've never heard cello sound like this!

Wil Kinky

soulful and bluesy

Wil Kinky sound is soulful and bluesy with an alternative edge. He calls his style: South Paw Soul - due to his unusual left-handed guitar approach. He sounds like a blend between John Mayer and Ray Lamontagne. In his early twenties, Wil has been playing music since he was thirteen. Born and raised outside Portland on a blueberry farm, hard work has always been a part of his life. Wil Kinky brings the same work ethic to his music, with a love and a passion that you can feel.

Wil performs solo as well as with his band the Wil Kinky Trio and guests with other acts like Jordan Harris, Keegan Smith, Krista Herring and Tony Smiley. Wil is also an in-demand guitar instructor – teaching guitar and piano in the Portland Metro area.

Jarred Bepristis

singer/songwriter

Musicians are like grilled cheese sandwiches, barely good enough for a kids menu at a fancy restaurant, yet still necessary. Jarred Bepristis is one of those sandwiches, but like that at a 5 star Michelin joint. He is basic, yet highly complex. Subdued and without pretension.

At 16 he learned guitar through the crucible of base church performance and a father who had developed a slow delta blues language as inarticulate as Cleatus, yet as patient and methodically drunk as Winston Churchill. This recipe of down-home cookin' and technical prowess tastes as good as grandmas Sunday pie.

His slide guitar, flamenco and jazz influence layered on the kind of story telling, euphemisms and honesty come through his twelve string like a good back rub... if you like it rough and passionate.

If you want your heart string plucked as hard or as soft as he plays his guitar, definitely give him a listen. He might just touch you somewhere you didn't know felt good.
