Lee Baggett

Lee Baggett

Outsider folk mystic Lee Baggett has crafted a new album of psych-country jams with Anyway, set for release on September 30th via Perpetual Doom. A West Coast journeyman of many years and sometimes guitarist for Little Wings, Lee Baggett began a new chapter of his eclectic and varied songwriting career with the 2021 release of Just A Minute, and he's continuing his experimental streak with this latest full-length offering.

Delving deeper into Anyway finds some familiar sounds, but there's decidedly more intimacy hidden in the crevices of his words and hooks. Throughout, Baggett uses his refined storytelling skills to share his relatable fears and coping mechanisms, his river-like path to unexpectedly finding love, and his musings on an ever-changing world, amongst other experiences. His conversational disposition, folk-styled lyricism, and emotive sonic backdrops make for an immersive listening experience.

Black Cassady

Black Cassady

You're alone in your car. It's the middle of the night. There's a full moon hanging high in the sky above surrounded by a blanket of stars. There's music blaring from your speakers. It's Black Cassady. You suddenly know that everything is going to be ok. Everything. Is going. To be Ok.

Black Cassady is the rhythmically bombastic, yet poignant playing of drummer Brian Kling, the smooth, yet hard hitting bass sounds of Grant Holly, and the wailing resonant sing song of guitarist/vocalist Jarrod Schneyer. Their music might sound familiar, might sound comfortable, but exists in its own realm - they hope to meet you there.

Jack Habegger's Celebrity Telethon

Jack Habegger's Celebrity Telethon

Hailing from Portland, OR by way of Olympia, WA, Jack Habegger's Celebrity Telethon takes a uniquely northwestern approach to alternative country. The band has made a name for themselves with wobbly synths, twangy harmonies, and Habegger's plainspoken songwriting. He has assembled a stable of veteran players for the outfit that each contribute singularly to a band that is both comfortable and eccentric. Bandcamp chose their January 2021 EP "Oy Vey!" as a "New and Notable" release, featuring it on their homepage and describing it as a "sweet slice of introspective, homespun country-folk."
