New Constellations

New Constellations

New Constellations are Portland based duo Harlee Case (vocals) and Josh Smith (multi-instrumentalist and producer). As childhood best friends, Josh recorded Harlee's first songs in his bedroom when she was 14. Josh spent the next decade playing and touring in bands around the northwest, while Harlee was spending her time building a large community around female empowerment and the legalization of plant medicine.

After 15 years of working on music separately, they have teamed up to form New Constellations. Blending powerful vocals, dancy beats, catchy guitar hooks, and energetic live shows, they have caught the attention of listeners with their debut single "Hot Blooded' earning nearly 3 million streams in its first year.

Ninjas With Syringes

Ninjas With Syringes

Ninjas With Syringes are a 4 piece Portland, OR punk rock band founded by vocalist singy-songy guy Matt Danger. With Brian Dene backing him up (from Secnd Best) on drums and Blaine Gorze on dueling six strings, they somehow managed to entice Dylan Samore into the luscious harmonies that our unified vocals to complete the chord of savages that is the latest, strongest Ninjas With Syringes possible. Ninjas play fast and languid anthems of glory, regret, misery, and resolve to bring it to a boil and sever hot their ever evolving churn and emotional cascade that composes their relaxing variety of shadowy skatepunk.

Ninjas have released 9 albums and EPs, marking the group's informal incarnation in 2008 with the release of their "Premature" full length and are fumingly producing more music than ever fathomed to add to their collection of proliferate melodic ooze. Ninjas With Syringes have dedicated themselves to creating the atmospheric juice needed to produce fun raw explosive live shows, passionately embraced in the sonic jumping abilities of their astral nature. Returning to live music on live @ Dante's on August, 20, 2021 after the virus shutdown ended and vaccines were in place has resulted in Ninjas returning to push some singles from their latest full length "Punkanomics" while mixing in old and personal favorites into their live set like "Teeth" and "Face Full of Lead" from their 2012 "Railroader" EP.

The ecstatic quartet have since nudged their way into the flinching Portland music scene and abroad touring to entertain dozens to hundreds with their upbeat attitudes across many longitudes. Loaded to burst merry melodies across the land, the boys can be seen on the road and in the pacific northwest throwing down bawdy hooks and moving around so much on stage that it gives dogs indigestion. Ninjas promise only one thing: music and sweet sweat. So- basically, two things! But they like to give a whole lot more. P.S. Please give them candy.

Ninjas With Syringes have shared stages with bands like: The Flatliners, Menzingers, Dead To Me, Foxy Shazam, Banner Pilot, Off With Their Heads, Riverboat Gamblers, The Murderburgers, Broadway Calls, & many more humble yet attention seeking name drops!

Sama Dams

Sama Dams

Few bands command the unexpectedly fine line that divides tension and release like Sama Dams does. And it's no wonder: songwriters Sam and Lisa Adams have been playing music together for over a decade - as long as they have been married - developing a creative forthrightness that sometimes feels voyeuristic. Taking cues from jazz, R&B, new wave, indie-rock, and classical art song, the alt-rock trio weaves a sensuous musical fabric that is distinctly theirs.

Much like the Dirty Projectors or Thom Yorke, Sama Dams's high art sensibilities are wrapped around a subversive knotty core of uncompromised radicalism - like if Leonard Bernstein was signed to K Records. In that way, the DIY ethos of the Pacific Northwest has shaped much of the band's path forward since graduating music school in 2008 and relocating to Portland in 2012.

Sama Dams's third and most recent full-length album, ‘Say It', surprises you with its gritty yet precise instrumentation, striking a keen balance between reserve and power, from wiley "Neil-Young-riding-a-rocket-sled" electric guitar riffs and mutant waves of organ to distorted ukulele and cut-up-on-the-spot breakbeats. The Portland Mercury said "‘Say It' is an endlessly fascinating sonic concoction, and a confident step forward for Sama Dams". What should be a series of stylistic contradictions results in each song firmly standing its ground as an interwoven compositional masterpiece, bending and twisting with eclectic abandon.

The band's sprawling sonic footprint is held together by their dynamic vocal power - an alternate-reality vocal pairing of Kate Bush and Jeff Buckley. Sam and Lisa's combined proficiencies and unique approaches to songwriting merge with the brilliant percussive work of drummer Micah Hummel, creating a matchless sound in live settings as well as in the studio.

Sama Dams can regularly be found gracing stages, music festivals, and living rooms across the United States and Central Europe, their music finding a place in the hearts of both music enthusiasts and general audiences alike with their intelligent arrangements, catchy melodies, and playful musicality.

Mbrascatu

Mbrascatu

Mbrascatu is a fusion of the cobbled streets and cafés of the Old World and the creative melting pot of Portland. Pronounced mm-brah-ska-too, the name is actually the nickname of Andrea Algieri's grandfather, the man who gave him his first guitar. Altough spending the most part of his life in Italy between his hometown Luzzi (Calabria) and Florence, Algieri currently makes his home in Portland, Oregon. His winding journey to the states gave Andrea the opportunity to travel and perform his music though Europe and Latin America.

The band, is a group of talented musicians that draw from very different musical backgrounds to create a unique sound encompassing European and American roots.

Although the name Mbrascatu is relatively new, the band itself has been gradually forming since the summer of 2010. Andrea began collaborating with Portland drummer Mathieu Lewis-Rolland. The band took on a fuller sound with the addition of Bassist Mike Doherty. Dylan Dean (violin) met Mbrascatu months later. Johnny Sabestinas (ukulele, electric guitar, and lap steel) was the final addition. The bass player Dan Sullivan joined the band in 2012.

Since forming Mbrascatu has performed extensively throughout the Pacific Northwest at bars, clubs and outdoor festivals.

Rum River Cult

Rum River Cult

Rum River Cult est. circa 2018, is a Portland based three piece band, with all of its members originally hailing from east of the Rockies. Lou Lanning from Kentucky, Sarah Parson of Minnesota, and newest to the PNW, Colin Ringkamp from Pennsylvania are the cult, here to recruit you into this bizarre new world of Covid-limbo with reminiscent tones of the 60's and 70's and an irreverent flair. With no rules to song format, lyrics both pessimistically whimsical yet heartfelt, these three implore you to join Rum River Cult in 2022 for their new lineup and content to come.
