What are “Fir sounds?”

“Fir sounds” are the confluence of a familiarity—like a love letter to the myriad of musical styles and bands that have left an imprint on each of its four members—and something completely its own, making their audience feel like they’re being transported somewhere completely unknown but to a place you are always invited.

Fir is an indie rock quartet that formed back in 2017 consisting of four fast friends (Victor Gennaro and Pete Abraham on guitar and vocals, Jake Jarvis on bass, and Evan Smoker on drums and percussion) that combine elements of classic rock, guitar-driven music with a style of music that is entirely their own unique product. 

From their approach to composition to their love of classic recording techniques, there is sincerity and intention in their body of work.  Fir has a little bit of something for everybody.

Head downstairs at the Crystal Hotel to hang out in this venue named for Al Winter, Portland's 1940's gambling overlord. Enjoy a craft libation in this intimate, speakeasy-style space where live music and comedy fill the air.
