The project is a culmination of two years of recording. Through a fusion of folk, rock, blues, and world music percussion and progressions, this record explores the figurative way we are all displaced people and challenges listeners to care for the literal outcasts and refugees of society. Benjamin and Heidi Beth Sadler met in college in Virginia and matured their sound after moving to Portland in 2007. After playing under another name for a few years, they relaunched as Chasing Ebenezer in 2013. In May 2016, they released "Slavery," a song written from the perspective of an enslaved sex worker. They released a new music video and single called "Say" in April 2018.The band has played at White Eagle Saloon, Mississippi Pizza Pub, Northwest Folklife, Operation Overcoat, Taste of Parkrose, and Gresham Farmers' Market. They have been covered by Oregon Music News and The Gresham Outlook. They have also played in support of many non-profit organizations and partner with people and groups blessing the community. Their songs have been featured by Portland Radio Project 99.1 FM, Local Roots Music NW 100.7 FM in Salem, Portland Metro Records' Fire Mondays, and the Indie Music Lives Here Podcast The band plays with a full-on rock sound and a folk sensibility borrowing from traditions all around the world. Heidi learned to play classical violin in Romania before honing her folk singing and bohemian violin style. Ben utilizes four different guitars, Dobro, and ukulele to give each song its own sound. He finger picks melodies and draws from Spanish and Irish guitar playing and Eddie Vedderesque vocals. Ryan Souders (drum kit) and David Skones (guitar, bass, cello) crank the rock 'n roll to the next level while Bryan Atkinson adds spice on djembe, congas, and bongos. Deceiver, Corinne's debut EP, dives brazenly into a dark, warm ambience, transporting listeners to an expansive scenery where the narrator is as relatable as she is otherworldly. Armed with a captivating musicality, Corinne is quickly emerging as a songwriting tour de force. "This collection of songs has been a long time coming," shares Corinne, whose performance and musical experience took root in Central Oregon's wild high desert when she was a kid. Over the years Corinne's contribution to various bands as a dynamic vocalist shaped her prowess as a dedicated performer, but it is her own inquisitive poeticism and bone-deep melodic instinct that shape the earthy musical aesthetic for her newly formal solo career. The title track "Deceiver", infused with Spaghetti-Western-inspired guitar licks and primal beats, reflectson the mysterious process that it is songwriting. Corinne shares that "the song is a call to my own creativity; calling on the courage to capture melodies when they come to me even if they sound weird or unfamiliar."Deceiver was recorded at Saint Cecilia Studios in Portland, and engineered, co-produced and mixed by Steven Lee Tracey. Corinne has already gained acknowledgment in national press, with Imperfect 5th calling her debut EP "absolutely magnetic" while Various Small Flames has said that she "makes music haunting yet tied to the corporeal condition." The 4-track EP begins swiftly with the opening track, "Firing Line," a genre-bending, western Americana song reminiscent of Sharon Van Etten's driving vocal quality. The third track on the EP "Evil Eye" is a nostalgic nod to the reverberating sound of Nancy Sinatra. "Hail Mary," the closing track, is an unpretentious ballad that showcases Corinne's lilting and elegant vocals, echoing against a backdrop of subtle percussion and lo-fi guitar. With a catalogue of well-crafted songs in her back pocket, Corinne is busy performing throughout the West Coast and dreaming up plans to record her debut album.Facebook:https://www.facebook.com/corinnesharletmusicSpotify:https://open.spotify.com/artist/6wBV0qKzQZ41BpciSI9rhi?si=wt4WTnpuQHWJM3IrJO1IQwWebsite:https://www.corinnesharletmusic.com/ Upcoming Events Similar Events Upcoming Events at White Eagle Saloon Dan Rodriguez Sunday, August 2 White Eagle Saloon Similar Events at White Eagle Saloon Dan Rodriguez Sunday, August 2 White Eagle Saloon Burger Month Monday, July 6 All of July * Most locations All ages welcome at All Locations Dan Rodriguez Sunday, August 2 7 pm All ages welcome at White Eagle Saloon Jim Lauderdale Wednesday, October 28 8 pm 21 and over at White Eagle Saloon Movie Showtimes Select Showtime Select Showtime Property Name Property Name Property Name Property Name Property Name Property Name Property Name Choose date above and click showtimes on the right for online ticket purchases...
