To say that music has fundamentally changed my life would be an understatement. I cannot remember a time where I did not have a rhythm to my step, a lyric on my mind, or a song in my heart. I have decided to take these impulses and pursue my dream: to create the most expressive and unique material I can possibly make.
The first experimentation period began in 2007 with every amateur musician's favorite program, Garageband. Hundreds of recordings later, my first attempts at professional recording came in 2009 with a few long sessions at KBC Records, a wonderful analog studio in my parents' neighborhood run by the amazing Shay Scott. The result: Jip Opus, a 7-song LP that was much more of a litmus test to studio work than a true album. I played all the instruments myself and oversaw as many aspects of production as I could, soaking up every detail. I was so pleased with the product that I went back for more in 2010 and recorded a 3-song EP called ElliPsis...that I never really released. I had moved to a different city and was caught up in my schoolwork, sadly the forward momentum drew to a grinding halt.
But the fire has rekindled. I'm constantly writing material and improving old material. Not only have I started booking gigs again but I've also branched out into commercial work, writing songs for radio programs and promotional videos. My passion has wholeheartedly returned, and I am prepared to do everything possible to continue my initial goal of bringing original music back to the masses.
