Adam Sweeney

Indie folksinger

Adam Sweeney

Indie folksinger Adam Sweeney has returned to his gritty Northwest roots after spending the three years as part of the New England scene. He comes bearing a new sound that puts a decidedly more electric spin on his traditional folk and country based compositions. His latest release, Technicolor Halo, features an all-star backing band of progressive New England folkies including Dave Chalfant (The Nields), Dave Hower (Winterpills), Jake Jolliff (Joy Kills Sorrow), and Tracy Grammer.

"Adam Sweeney is blessed... with an impeccable folkie lineup, wary resolution of the tunes, and the determined conflict and recovery of wry and sweet lyrics." ~ Suzi Steffen, Eugene Weekly

"Portland provides more folk/rock fuse delight via Adam Sweeney, whose quavering voice and electric spin on traditional folk dishes out something different." ~ Monterey County Weekly

"Drawing comparisons to Dave Carter and Gillian Welch, as well as folk revival poets like Paul Simon and Cat Stevens." ~ Northeast Performer

"Adam Sweeney is one of the more talented young west coast songwriters." ~ Tom May, River City Folk, WFMT Fine Arts Radio

Ryan T Jacobs

singer/songwriter of Melville

Ryan T Jacobs

Ryan T Jacobs is the singer/songwriter behind Portland indie mainstay Melville. Having spent seven years living and touring all over Europe, Jacobs speaks four languages, and channels his world travel experiences into his songwriting. His lyrics and dynamic vocals are enhanced by his fiery performance and belief in the songs that he brings to the stage.

Jacobs' sound is neither restrictive to nor a derivative of the current era. The music has been compared to the likes of Tom Petty, Snow Patrol, and REM. Above all, Jacobs' believes in transcendence through music and aims to move his audience to believe the same, whether with his band Melville or solo.

Recorded with Gregg Williams (The Dandy Warhols, Sheryl Crow, Blitzen Trapper) and mastered by Paul Gold (The War on Drugs, Grizzly Bear), Melville's album The New Zero was meticulously crafted over the course of two years. From that effort, Jacobs' songs "Heart" and "Claws Out" debuted at sold-out Portland Trailblazers games; they played the Portland Party at SXSW; and they shared the stage with the likes of Collective Soul, 3 Doors Down, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, Wilco side-project The Autumn Defense, Minor Alps, and Murder By Death.
