The Deadstring Family Band
Hardcore Honky Tonk, The Deadstring Family Band is built on the foundation of Kurtis Brother's Detroit/Nashville band, "The Deadstring Brothers" who have 4 records on the Bloodshot label and toured the world. Relocating to the Pacific NW and forming a new version of the band focused on the music of the 1970's country records by Willie, Merle, Waylon, and lesser known gems like Billy Don Williams, Billy Joe Shaver and John Prine, Kurt has found a new brotherhood with Kris Stuart (Root Jack) and Matt Cadenelli (The Don of Division Street) who are pushing to further Kurtis's vision of carrying the torch for hard honky tonk as a purely American art form. What started with a week long residency in Portland, OR in 2014 has bloomed into a full-fledged, hard-charging, line-dancing Honky Tonk machine.
