Heather Anne Jr.
Singer/Songwriter
Heather Anne, Jr. was born and raised by bush pilots in the swaying pines and alfalfa fields of eastern Washington. Her mother bought her a guitar at a garage sale when she was 9, noticing that she was the type of girl who might like to sit in her room and play guitar.
In her twenties, many a heartbreak was eased as she wept soggy tears into the hollow body of her Yamaha. It seemed its capacity for absorbing her woes was endless. It would embrace her like the best of friends and re-imagine her heartache into beauty and poetry, packaging the pain into something bearable.
She roamed the country, spending a year in New Orleans during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, absorbing the resiliency and warmth of the people of that beloved city. After shaking her ass to the brass bands and playing tenor saxophone in a marching band in Mardi Gras, it was time to point the car west again and head for home.
She moved back to the Northwest for the cold mountain streams, the soaring Douglas Firs, the smell and sway of the pines. Now living in Portland, she is a leather artist, poet, writer, musician, yoga teacher, mother, and lover.
