Detective Sergeant Meets the Psychic: A New Spin on Investigating and Reporting UFOs

Detective Sergeant Meets the Psychic: A New Spin on Investigating and Reporting UFOs

Presented by: James and Joanne Clarkson, Oregon chapter of MUFON and McMenamins History

Working with real life cases, James Clarkson, a seasoned investigator, and Joanne Clarkson, a psychic medium, will describe and enact interviews and reports about UFO and paranormal encounters. Joanne will portray such key UFO witnesses as June Crain (Roswell and other crashes), Estella Kressel (Westport Crash), Frankie Rowe (Roswell) and others, as well as describing her own sighting. James, who has devoted thirty years to exploring the possibility of alien contact, will use his detection tools and interviewing techniques to explore truth in testimony.

Although this program has been planned and organized, the presenters leave room for new revelations. Come and see what happens when science meets intuition!

About the Speakers:
Joanne Clarkson was taught psychic mediumship by her Grandmother as a child.  She has given palm and card readings and programs all her life.  Joanne earned Master's Degrees in English and Library Science, taught and worked as a professional librarian.  After caring for her mother through a long illness, she re-careered as a Registered Nurse specializing in Home Health and Hospice care.  Joanne's poems, stories and non-fiction pieces have appeared in over 200 journals and magazines internationally. Her non-fiction book about personal and Hospice experiences, There's Always a Miracle: True Stories of Life Before and After Death, was published in 2016. Her poetry manuscript, The Fates, won Bright Hill Press' annual contest and was just published June 2017. She lives with her husband, Ufologist James Clarkson, in Olympia, WA.

James Clarkson is an Investigator who has stood in two worlds for many years - a career professional investigator in the criminal justice field and as a lifelong researcher of the UFO Mystery. He has been a plainclothes military police investigator, a 20-year career city police officer and fraud investigator who has had many titles: patrol supervisor, detective sergeant, fatal accident team manager and training officer. After retiring with 20 years' service, he became a child abuse detective and then he completed another decade of service as a fraud investigator for a Washington state agency.

Meanwhile, for the last 30 years he has studied the mystery of UFOs with the same attention to detail that he applied to criminal investigations. In 1986, he joined the Mutual UFO Network. James Clarkson has served as the Washington State Director of MUFON. Applying the same passion for solving mysteries to the world of High Strangeness, he has completed over 750 UFO investigations before resigning from MUFON in 2017. He has lectured at many UFO events across the country and in Paris as well as appearances on radio and TV. He is the author ofTELL MY STORY- June Crain, the Air Force & UFOs as well as the Westport UFO Crash Retrieval Event.

Paranormal Pub

Paranormal Pub

Join us once a month to hear from experts in unexplainable phenomena - think UFOs, extraterrestrials, Bigfoot, ESP, ghosts and beyond. Come have a beer and a burger handcrafted beverage, concessions, and/or a slice of pizza, settle in and learn something new from a curated line-up of scholars, experiencers and others.

According to Wikipedia: "Paranormal events are phenomena described in popular culture, folklore and other non-scientific bodies of knowledge, whose existence within these contexts is described to lie beyond normal experience or scientific explanation.

A paranormal phenomenon is different from hypothetical concepts such as dark matter and dark energy. Unlike paranormal phenomena, these hypothetical concepts are based on empirical observations and experimental data gained through the scientific method.

The most notable paranormal beliefs include those that pertain to ghosts, extraterrestrial life, unidentified flying objects, psychic abilities or extrasensory perception and cryptids."

We thank the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) for coordinating and hosting this programming at the historic Mission Theater.
