Radiance of Resistance

2017 Winner of Best Documentary at the Respect Human Rights Festival in Belfast. Radiance of Resistance tells the story of Janna Ayyad 9 years old, and Ahed Tamimi 14 years old who have become global ambassadors for Palestinian human rights. The film is an intimate look at their everyday lives and roles as part of a new generation of Palestinian civil rights leaders. "Nabi Saleh images illustrate changing asymmetry of Israeli-Palestinian conflict" - The Guardian (Sept. 1 2015.)

Premiering in Oregon and created by local filmmakers. This award winning film is currently touring film festivals throughout the world.

The filmmakers. Jesse Locke moved to Bend from Eugene OR in 1998 and has lived here ever since. He has been making movies since 2010 under his production company AMZ Productions. Jesse Roberts has lived in Bend most of his life and his non-profit Rise Up puts on many cultural events to the area.

Along with the director/editor/cinematographers being Bend residents other local artists and musicians were used in the making of this film. Kevin Prather provided animation pieces to the film and local band Third Seven provided the music for the soundtrack.

The night will be filled with entertainment and educational material regarding the movies content and Palestine in general. There will be a silent auction/ champagne reception in the theater starting at 730 p.m. The auction will be highlighting local artists and businesses. All the proceeds going to the non-profit Rise Up. Music will be provided by local cellist Billy Mickelson. The artists and directors will be on hand to answer any questions regarding the film. There will be a moderated Q&A after the film and a special message from the star herself Janna Ayyad.
