About Rhyme 'Em Cowboy

Rhyme 'Em Cowboy

Presented by Tom Swearingen, Oregon cowboy poet

Join Oregon horseman Tom Swearingen to hear stories of the people and land of the American West through original cowboy poetry that is often inspired by his own experiences and observations from the saddle. A two-time winner of the National Finals Rodeo Cowboy Poetry Contest, and 2019 International Western Music Association Male Poet of the Year, Tom brings his stories to life with rhythm and rhyme and a style that makes him a popular performer not only at cowboy gatherings, but wherever else you find folks who appreciate the heritage of the west.

About the Speaker:

Tom Swearingen has been a headline and featured performer at western music and cowboy poetry festivals throughout the west. Swearingen's CDs of original cowboy poetry have been recognized six times as finalists for IWMA Cowboy Poetry CD of the Year. For more on Tom visit oregoncowboypoet.com.

These monthly, free events are open to everyone interested in Oregon and Pacific Northwest history. Co-sponsored by like-minded historical and civic organizations, we bring you experts, scholars, first-person experiencers and historians who expound on topics from Lewis and Clark to shipwrecks, hop growing to women pioneers and far, far beyond. It's like being back in the classroom - except this time you get to settle into comfortable seats and enjoy a drink or two with dinner while you listen and learn.
