About Spirits of the Avalanche: The Wellington Story

Spirits of the Avalanche: The Wellington Story

Presented by Karen Frazier, Paranormal Investigator & Author

From the first time Karen Frazier heard about Wellington, Washington, she was drawn to the story of the avalanche disaster that occurred there in 1910. Since her first visit in 2009, Karen has studied Wellington extensively, examining the history and investigating the reports of haunting. She has written two books about her experiences at Wellington.

In the 10+ years Karen has been visiting Wellington, she's gathered extensive evidence of hauntings, had numerous personal experiences, and talked to dozens of people who have also encountered evidence of spirits at the avalanche site including uncovering possible evidence of a past life as one of the train passengers that perished in the avalanche. Wellington is the place that caused Karen to believe in ghosts, and in this talk she shares her experiences from 10 years at this singular, extremely haunted location.

Come have a beer and a burger handcrafted beverage, concessions, and/or a slice of pizza, settle in and learn something new from a curated line-up of scholars, experiencers and others.

According to Wikipedia: "Paranormal events are phenomena described in popular culture, folklore and other non-scientific bodies of knowledge, whose existence within these contexts is described to lie beyond normal experience or scientific explanation.

A paranormal phenomenon is different from hypothetical concepts such as dark matter and dark energy. Unlike paranormal phenomena, these hypothetical concepts are based on empirical observations and experimental data gained through the scientific method.

The most notable paranormal beliefs include those that pertain to ghosts, extraterrestrial life, unidentified flying objects, psychic abilities or extrasensory perception and cryptids."

We thank the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) for coordinating and hosting this programming at Kennedy School Theater.
