The Police & The Paranormal
This presentation is based on first-hand accounts from Loren W.
Christensen’s book, Cops’ True Stories of the Paranormal: Ghosts, UFOs, and
Other Shivers. These experiences happened to law enforcement officers from
a variety of agencies—city, county, SWAT, command, and military police. They
happened to men and women trained to observe and trained to trust the evidence.
They knew how crooks thought and could recognize the patterns of drug dealing,
robbery, gang assaults, and murder. Then something happened that didn’t fall
neatly into a category in which law enforcement typically functions, nor did it
fall into any of the unusual situations that occur from time to time. These
events went beyond the unusual and into the realm of bizarre. These were
aberrations, oddities, and the eerie. These were paranormal.
