Presented by Dr. Henry P. Kirk, Centralia College President Emeritus and Jenny Sheldon Kirk
Centralia College President Emeritus Dr. Henry P. Kirk and Jenny Sheldon Kirk will explore the role of art and architecture in creating inviting, attractive, and engaging spaces. Using Centralia College's transformation over the last 30 years as an example, the Kirks will demonstrate how the spirit of a place comes together, from the bricks, sidewalks, and spacing of buildings to the art that defines each particular space. Their presentation includes a sweeping tour of campus through the decades, and provides information on how you can define and cultivate spirit in your own homes and spaces.
These monthly, free events are open to everyone interested in Oregon and Pacific Northwest history. Co-sponsored by like-minded historical and civic organizations, we bring you experts, scholars, first-person experiencers and historians who expound on topics from Lewis and Clark to shipwrecks, hop growing to women pioneers and far, far beyond. It's like being back in the classroom - except this time you get to settle into comfortable seats and enjoy a drink or two with dinner while you listen and learn.
This event is eligible for a History Pub Stamp
