About Westfall

Pop Style

“People don’t come to hear you. They come to feel you”

Westfall is the musical moniker of the Portland, Oregon based artist, Jacob Westfall. Westfall is more than just a name; it is a family and a community of collaborators and musicians. He is joined primarily by his partner Taylor Dawn. Together, the two share their story through genuine songwriting, powerhouse vocals, and pristine harmonies – regaling their tales of travels, love, and growth through a tradition of alternative soundscapes, rock & roll attitude, and folk authenticity in a pop-style package.

Jacob Westfall is a young veteran of the Portland music scene. After appearances on shows like NBC’s The Voice (S12) and ABC’s American Idol (S1) Jacob needed a change and escape from musical burnout. Often seen as one of Portland’s hardest working musicians, he has gained recognition as one of the PNW’s fastest growing singer-songwriters and can be seen performing regularly at festivals throughout the area.

Teaming up with vocalist and songwriter Taylor Dawn was the unexpected yet inevitable catalyst to Westfall. While they had both started their musical journey on stage at their local church, they had vastly different experiences in the professional world. Taylor gained recognition as a worship leader and signed model in Portland while Jacob had worked both the Portland and Nashville scenes. He would play for hours at dive bars and small venues and wrote music for other artists known and unknown. While their relationship blossomed Taylor began joining Jacob at his gigs and it quickly became apparent that they put on a damn good show together.

Westfall is currently creating a new record that will be ready for fans in 2020. The songwriting is honest, imperfect, beautiful, impactful, and authentic. It tells of the journey before and after they met, and the ways that they affected and changed each other. Westfall is an experience you will not want to miss.

About Sonny Hess

Fiery rhythm & blues

Sonny Hess

Known far and wide for her sensual guitar playing, songwriting gifts and soulful vocals, local blues legend Sonny Hess fires up shows around town performing in a variety of forms and combinations - solo, in duos, full bands, and as part of the venerable NW Women Rhythm & Blues, which may include fellow blueswomen Lady Kat, Duffy Bishop and many more. Named Outstanding R&B Act and Best New Artist when the Sonny Hess Power Band appeared in 1991, Hess has brought her particular brand of the blues to northwest audiences for nearly two decades. She's also been a serious supporter of fellow artists, producing the NW Women R&B shows and playing regularly with Ellen Whyte (as part of the duo Jane Doe), Leah Hinchcliff, and Lisa Mann.
