Find the Edgefield Brewers at the Edgefield Gift Shop, where they will be pouring samples of their Coolship No. 1, releasing in 500mL bottles for the first time! This Wild Ale was made with mango, peach and apricot, spontaneously fermented in American Oak and aged for three months on fruit. This is the first beer out of Edgefield’s Coolship Program, which emulates a centuries-old traditional method used by brewers of Belgian Lambics. Beers produced this way are cooled after brewing in open-air containers, known as coolships, that allow native, wild yeast to come in contact with the cooling beer. This creates a unique and truly wild fermentation with no added domesticated brewer’s yeast or lab-grown microbes. Coolship No. 1 is tart, pale in color, beautifully fruity, and truly one-of-a-kind, making it perfect for aging. Like what you taste? Buy bottles to-go!
