Join us to celebrate Father Luke, who came to
Bend and helped settle the town in 1910, and this year would be turning 144!
We’ll gather in his namesake room for a night of live music from Bend’s own
Blackstrap Bluegrass. We’ll have food specials and a birthday beer marking the
occasion as well. Cheers!
Blackstrap Bluegrass is a long standing group of musicians from Bend, Oregon. What started out as some porch pickin back in 2004 turned into a full fledged band project that resulted in picking and grinning at local and regional festivals, local bend venues and private parties across the state. Members have come and gone, but the roots stay the same in providing some catchy originals mixed in with familiar grassy standards, and creative covers. Currently featuring: Craig Mavis: Upright Bass Guitar and Vocals, Jak Rands: flatpicking guitar, Steve Arnold: 5 string Banjo, and Nick Miranda: Mandolin.
Those who like our style of "The Bluegrass" won't be disappointed with the latest assembly of red hot pickers. Hope you like our renditions of familiar bluegrass standards and our originals that base their roots in hard driving acoustic music.
