About The Keith Musig Quartet

The Keith Musig Quartet

Keith Musig is an accomplished jazz guitarist and songwriter who has called Tacoma home for the last 20 years. Since moving to the Pacific Northwest, Keith has been forging his craft through a variety of musical outlets such as: the Musig-Christensen Duo, Keith Musig Trio, and Candy Shoppe.

Regardless of whether he's playing solo or with others, Keith's repertoire includes a unique take on vocal and instrumental jazz standards as well as original compositions. His material falls broadly into the categories of swing, blues, and modern jazz, creating an inviting mood from a melodic, chordal approach to the guitar and tenor-range vocals.

His current quartet features Hal Rose on Tenor and Soprano Sax, Tom Hume on drums, and Troy Kendrick on bass.

Hal Rose is a woodwind player, composer and arranger, has been playing with various small groups and big bands around the Seattle area for 20 years.

Tom Hume is a Tacoma native who loves drumming. He has performed behind a kit in varied styles; jazz, rock, heavy metal, country, funk and alternative, to name a few. His ambition is to attain enlightenment through the mysterious power of rhythm. Tom has performed with Playtonics, Candy Shoppe, Rhythm Changes, and Be-Bop Co-op.

Troy Kendrick is a Seattle bassist and composer. After 20 years of playing and recording around the Sound and 1 year of hiding in his basement and wearing a mask and gloves to go to the hardware store, he is excited to return to the world outside and play some jazz with Keith, Harold, and Tom. Troy is a founding member of the DeadWax Trio and the Greenline Quintet.
