About Don Henson & Friends

Don Henson & Friends

Percussionist Extraordinaire Don Henson has been playing Last Fridays at Boon's with Will West & The Friendly Strangers for the last few years.  Each month Don will bring down special guest bands and musicians to take you on an incredible musical adventure.  And you have to check out Don's percussion system to believe it.  He's surrounded by a wide array of hand percussion, cymbals, and drums plus he mixes in a collection of xylophone, synth and keyboard elements.

Don Henson first played piano at a Baptist church at the age of eight.  Since then he's toured the country with his band Sneakin' Out, playing Arlene Schnitzer Hall opening for K.D. Lang, Boston Opera House and Carnegie Hall. Played percussion on tour with Portland Cello Project. Appeared with Pink Martini playing glockenspiel on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.  He lives in Portland, OR with his partner of ten years.
