With upbeat rock sounds akin to The B52's and Blondie, Biblioteka marries a blend of grunge, punk, and garage to create an array of upbeat punk songs and wistful rock music. Formed from the ashes of a disbanded project, singer/bassist Mary Robins and guitarist Hexx Rodriguez began writing for Biblioteka in the mid-2010's. The name pays homage to Robins' Ukrainian heritage, and Hexx's Mexican roots - a name with a unifying meaning through their respective backgrounds.

Boisterous shows and high-energy performances have become the band's trademark. Biblioteka released their debut full-length album Pretty Ugly in June 2022 via Freakout Records. Austin Town Hall describes single track "Tick Tock" as "[v]ery The Hives vibe with a touch of 60s era garage/fuzz rock." 

Biblioteka is Mary Robins (Vocals, Bass), Hillary Tusick (Vocals, Keys, Guitar), Hexx Rodriguez (Guitar), Sam Nowak (Drums).

Hailing from her native Los Angeles, local legend Taleen Kali composes romantic punk songs wrapped in layers of shoegaze, psychedelia, and riot grrrl grunge, creating a cosmic sound that's dreamy and defiant alike.

A multi-hypenate to the core, Taleen is founder of what The L.A. Times calls "cult favorite" DUM DUM Zine and organizes literary events, sound healing meditations, and works as a creative when she's not on tour. Poetry, essays, and visual art appear in The Onion, SPIN, Entropy, Razorcake, Los Angeleno, The Bushwick Review, TL;DR Magazine, Yes Poetry, and publications all over the country.
