About Junkyard Jane

Junkyard Jane Junkyard Jane rose by night in the tide flats of Tacoma, Washington from a strange and wondrous brew of blues, swamp gas, rockabilly, country, motor oil, folk, funk, and old engine parts. The group was recently inducted into the Washington Blues Societies “Hall of Fame” in the band category; and their briefcase full of kudos also includes “Best Band”, “Best NW Recording”, and “Entertainer of the Year”. Like all true originals, they display a Creole blend of influences that they affectionately call “Swampabilly Blues”. Now celebrating 20+ years together, Junkyard Jane has released eight CDs of all-original music featuring the songwriting of Leanne Trevalyan and Billy Stoops. Founding members Barbra Blue on bass and drummer Chris Leighton round out the rhythm section, while award winning multi-instrumentalist Jim King ads saxophone and harmonica to this unique Americana ensemble. “Great songs, great singing, great grooves and a sense of humor – it don’t get much better then this.” Marc Bristol, Blue Suede News “As entertaining and uninhibited as anything you will ever see on stage!” John-Allen Briscoe, WBS Bluesletter
