Doug Shafer is a Portland musician and artist. He performs on various string instruments including guitar, oud, Turkish baglama saz, mandolin, octave mandolin and resonator guitar. He also plays various hand percussion instruments including darbuka, cajon, davul, frame drums and riq. Soloists playing horns, violin, harmonica or other string instruments are often invited along for a repertoire of old jazz, blues, and original songs, but also pieces by Dylan, Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, Holy Modal Rounders and many others.
