About Michael Dean Damron
Blues/folk/country-rock
With
a gravelly, whiskey-tinged rasp that you may think would limit itself to tales
of the bar and road, Michael Dean Damron sings about a broad array of subjects,
personal and political; Oklahoma upbringings, failed marriages, and the
hypocrisy of certain religious and political leaders are all in his scope.
Formerly the leader of Stumptown country-punk favorites I Can Lick Any SOB in
the House and now backed by Thee Loyal Bastards (guitarist Morgan Geer, bassist
Allan Hunter and drummer Sam Henry), Mike D --as he's affectionately known to
many --pulls no punches whatsoever in his blues, folk and southern
rock-flavored work. His last solo album, A
Perfect Day for a Funeral, arrived in 2005.
