Bill Hughes is a retired physician who quit his day job to be a guitar player. He plays guitar 250 nights a year, from Eugene to Seattle. His repertoire includes primarily the great standards by Gershwin, Ellington, and Jobim, but with a healthy dose of Beatles and other rock legends. Bill plays occasional blues, rock and zydeco gigs as well.
Bill has played at McMenamins Boon's Treasury around 100 times since 1980. It was a gig at Boon's in the 1990s, in fact, that convinced him to quit his day job and play music full time.
A recent review in Oregon Music News describes Bill as "an impeccable musician" and "super talented."
