Tragedy, Hope, and Failure in Washington's Prison Reform

Presented by Dan Berger, Associate Professor, School of Interdisciplinary Arts & Sciences (UW Bothell); Adjunct Associate Professor, College of Arts & Sciences (UW Seattle)

Historian Dan Berger explores the surprising and influential history of prison reform in Washington state. Focusing on the 1970s and 1980s, Berger will show how the state moved from a leader in rehabilitation to a leader in punishment.
