Golfing on the Coast of Ireland are a trio of Capuchin priests, including Father Luke Sheehan, center. In 1910, Father Luke was assigned by the Irish Capuchins to oversee a mission in the wilds of Central Oregon. Over the subsequent 27 years, Luke established several parishes, most notably St. Francis Parish at Bend, and built parish churches, schools, hospitals, as well as serving as a key force in the general development of Bend and other communities.
