While WebCyclery Movie Night at McMenamins is a fund raiser for Central Oregon Trail Alliance, it is mostly an excuse to get together with a theater full of like-minded cyclists to watch kick-ass bicycle movies, drink a beer, raise some money for local trails, and maybe win a cool door prize from Salsa Cycles and WebCyclery.

About Ride The Divide

Content

WebCyclery and Salsa Cycles brings you an advance screening of Ride The Divide. This inspiring film follows the world's toughest mountain bike race, which traverses over 2700 miles along the Continental Divide in the Rocky Mountains.

The film weaves the story of three characters' experiences with immense mountain beauty and small-town culture as they attempt to pedal from Banff, Canada to a small, dusty crossing on the Mexican border.

Mike, a 40-year old family man who uses this challenge to chart a new course in life; Matthew, a leader in extreme endurance racing who's competing for his 5th time; and Mary, the ?rst female rider to race this route, will set out to accomplish what very few have been able to. Over the course of a few weeks they'll attempt to climb over 200,000 vertical feet over the Rocky Mountains.

They'll experience mental breakdowns, treacherous snow, hellacious blisters, and total fatigue. Above all, they'll race with no support - at times in total isolation.

Kevin Gorman, a film critic known for his thumbs-up and thumbs-down reviews with his brother and fellow critic, Mean Todd, has praised Ride The Divide and heralded it as "The sweetest mountain bikes racing 2700 miles along the Continental Divide movie ever!" Mean Todd continued the accolades and added, "As long as you're going to be at McMenamins drinking a beer, you might was well be watching Ride The Divide at the same time."
