THIS MONTH

Is being an ant at the picnic a REAL job?

LUXr logo In the case of Tristan Kromer, lean startup advocate at LUXr, it is.  It's his JOB to poke, prod, and question entrepreneurs.

Tristan has spent 10 years in the music industry, worked five years in IT security, lived in five different countries, and studied philosophy and business (separately). In general, he's made a nuisance of himself for the past three years in Silicon Valley helping startups get to viability faster.

Tristan blogs about lean startups, customer development, and user experience; runs Lean Startup Circle; leads workshops in Lean Startup; and speaks at conferences and Meetups worldwide.

Join us at PubTalk and hear Tristan inform and entertain with stories from the lean build-measure-learn school of entrepreneurship.

Hear two intriguing early stage presenters

Kyle Johnson describes his  concept company, EasyHealth, as "Expedia for healthcare."  Using a web-based scheduling system and discounted pricing from medical providers, EasyHealth enables real-time booking of medical appointments.  Kyle is an Administrative Fellow for St. Charles Healthcare Management Program.

The axiom that personal need spurs many an entrepreneur is the story behind Becca Williams of Red Plate Foods. Personally challenged with severe food allergies and those of her immediate family, she's created a line of gluten-free and allergy-free baked goods.  Red Plate will launch in Central Oregon this summer in a trial to refine the startup's distribution approach.

Where to go when the bank says "NO"

There are alternative lending options! For a look outside traditional banking, plan to attend the April 24th presentation hosted by the East Cascades Risk Management Association chapter.

Representatives from Craft3, EDCO, and Primary Funding Corp. will discuss non-traditional financing options for startups, expanding companies, and those with "challenged" credit.
