About Leon Cotter

Leon Cotter is a woodwind player, teacher and composer based in the Portland area. He grew up in Eagle Creek, Oregon, and began playing alto saxophone in the 5th grade.In 2007 Leon moved to Boston to study at the Berklee College of Music. There, he majored in saxophone performance, and studied with jazz luminaries including George Garzone and Hal Crook.

Leon has performed/recorded with Toussaint the Liberator and Amandla, Oddisee, George Garzone, Raydar Ellis, and Christine Fawson, and has played at New York's Blue Note, the Kabang Music Festival, the CMJ Music Marathon, and BayJam in the Florida Keys.
