Ben Harper took the stage solo and started with some acoustic songs, setting a mellow mood for the rest of the show. The crowd was quiet, just taking in the music that was perfect for a warm summer night. Here are some of my favorite shots:

He collects stories, photos, anecdotes and more about McMenamins spots, past and present. What was the very first McMenamins pub, opened by Mike and Brian McMenamin? The Barley Mill on SE Hawthorne in Portland. Does each McMenamins pub brew beer? Nope – only our brewpubs and breweries do. They supply our other spots. Great photos. I have never seen Ben's solo set; however, I did get a chance to see him sit in with Pearl Jam for a few song during Austin City Limits a few years ago; it was nothing short of awesome, he's a very talented player.
