Molly is the fictitious matron of the Roseburg Railway Station. The short, stout woman lavished employees and patrons with decadent pies and tarts that were second to none. Molly’s tarts and temperament were as sweet as her wrath was fierce, though, if anyone got out of line at her station. Many an illegal game of boxcar poker came to an end with a brawl between players and Molly stepping in to knock the unruly offenders over the head with her rolling pin. It was her sweet disposition and smooth character that earned her respect, but it was her sharp and powerful presence that earned her the nickname “Spearhead Molly.” Likewise, Spearhead Molly, the beer, has both sweet characteristics and a powerful bite. It is an American Brown Ale with a smooth, nutty palate and a crisp hop finish. Just be warned, keep a cool head around Spearhead Molly, or the next day you could feel like she got you with her rolling pin.

On Nitro Tap:
McMenamins Irish Stout
This is our Halfway to Saint Patrick’s Day Seasonal and will pour exclusively on our nitro taps for the occasion. McMenamins Irish Stout is our interpretation of the internationally renowned beer style that originated in Ireland. McMenamins Irish Stout is made as traditionally as possible with our own little twist. It is a very dark, ebony-colored stout with a thick, creamy and long-lasting head. The flavor is a fantastic fusion of coffee-like roasted barley bitterness and semi-sweet chocolate. A moderate hop bitterness balances pleasingly with this hearty backbone, while tiny nitrogen bubbles enhance the sensation on your taste buds with a smooth, silky creaminess. One sip will have your head in the Emerald Isle clouds. A touch of the Irish, the blessings of St. Patrick and a pint of McMenamins Irish Stout to you!

Edgefield Spiced Hard Cider
A subtle addition of winter spices rounds out this years journey into the evolving world of McMenamins seasonal ciders. A harmonious infusion of dried sweet orange peel, whole vanilla beans, cloves, allspice, cinnamon, nutmeg, fresh lemon zest, and a hint of ginger brings a seasonal flair to a base of freshly fermented apple juice. All of our ciders are lightly carbonated, usually contain around 6.5% abv, and are always gluten free. People are rediscovering hard cider to be a lighter alternative to wine and beer, with its clean crisp flavors offering another option to enjoy the bounty of the Pacific Northwest. With unparalleled access to quality juices pressed from neighboring orchards, McMenamins has been fermenting dry apple cider since 1992. In the summer of 2013, we began to experiment with the production of specialty seasonal ciders. Enjoy!
